Peter J. Stewart, Founder
President and Chief Executive Officer
Building on more than 15 years of forest products industry experience, Pete Stewart created Forest2Market in 2000 when he began collecting transaction-level timber pricing data, which has helped Forest2Market emerge as the front-runner and industry standard for pricing timber in the U.S. South and the Pacific Northwest. Under his leadership, Forest2Market continues to grow, developing new products and services to meet the needs of a changing industry.
Stewart has appeared at numerous industry meetings (pressroom) and conferences and has been published in leading industry journals and magazines (publications). He is widely known as one of the industry's leading wood supply chain experts (speaker's bio).
Before founding Forest2Market, Stewart led the development of the industry's first Web-based forest inventory management and mapping system, was responsible for planning and harvest schedules for $350 million of institutional forestland and led acquisition projects in Argentina and Brazil. He was actively involved in many of the major Southern timberland transactions between 1994 and 1999.
Stewart received his bachelor's degree in forestry from Texas A&M University and his master's degree in forest economics from the University of Georgia.

Daniel E. Stuber
Operations Manager
As data operations manager at Forest2Market, Stuber oversees development, design and operations of analytics and forest metrics at Forest2Market. He is responsible for both of Forest2Market's proprietary databases—the stumpage database and the delivered price benchmark database and for ensuring the quality, integrity and security of all analytic and data management services in the U.S. South and Pacific Northwest.
Stuber and his team are also responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining data contributor partnerships and for assisting customers in implementing Forest2Market solutions.
Before his promotion to Operations Manager, Stuber worked as both a database forester and as a timber market analyst for Forest2Market. His other experience includes a variety of roles in the forestry industry, including stints in sawmills and with the U.S. Forest Service. He also has experience in timber inventory management, silvicultural applications and harvesting.
A graduate of University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, Stuber earned a B.S. and an M.F.R. in Forest Resources. While in graduate school, Stuber collected survey data on timber prices for the Warnell School's timber pricing service.

Gordon Culbertson
Pacific Northwest Region Manager
Gordon Culbertson oversees Forest2Market's Pacific Northwest office, guiding the development of the Forest2Market business in the region and customizing products and services to meet customers’ needs.
With over thirty years experience in the Western forest industry, Culbertson has an extensive background in multiple facets of the business. He served as vice president of resources for Swanson Group, where he managed timberland operations as well as annual log and timber production. His experience also includes serving as vice president of timberland operations for Rosboro Lumber, where he was responsible for coordinating timber supply for diversified manufacturing operations (speaker's bio).
Active in the industry and his community, Culbertson has served as the executive level representative for a number of organizations including the Oregon Forest Industries Council, the American Forest Resource Council, the Washington Forest Protection Association, the Oregon Logging Conference and the Southern Oregon Log Scaling and Grading Bureau. He is past president of the Twin Rivers Rotary Club of Springfield, Oregon. Culbertson received a forest technology degree from Lane Community College.

Suzanne Hearn
Vice President, Marketing and Sales
Suzanne Hearn manages several functions at Forest2Market, including sales management, marketing strategy and new business development. Among Hearn's accomplishments are the 2009 redesign of Forest2Market's website, leading Forest2Market's lumber product development team and the design and implementation of a customer relationship marketing strategy. She also lead the team of analysts on recently completed research for the Wood Supply Research Institute investigating the effects of long-term supply agreements on wood fiber and log price volatility. In 2006, she was project lead when Forest2Market published the first comprehensive look at the economic effects of rising energy costs and changing energy and environmental policy on the traditional forest products supply chain.
Hearn sits on the Board of the US Industrial Pellet Association and serves as Chair of the North American Wholesale Lumber Association's Communications Committee.
Prior to joining F2M, she was national accounts manager for Crop Data Management Systems, Inc. and held executive marketing positions in the agricultural industry, where she is a recognized expert in customer relationship marketing. She owns a tree farm in Union County, North Carolina.
Hearn earned her bachelor's degree in environmental studies from the University of California at Berkeley and has completed executive marketing courses there and at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She has also worked as a programmer for the U.S. Forest Service.

Sam Houston
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Sam Houston is reponsible for finance, accounting, human resources and management of the company's information technology infrastructure.
He has spent 25 years in the industry—20 of them with MeadWestvaco—working his way up from manufacturing associate to Manager of Strategic Projects, where he was responsible for creating strategic and operating plans. His most recent role was as the Vice President of Finance and Strategy for MeadWestvaco’s Forestry Division, where he was responsible for finance, accounting, strategy/planning and information technology.
Sam has a B.S. in Forest Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University with an emphasis on Operations Management.

Barbara Wright Hudson
Manager, Recovered Fiber Practice
As manager of Forest2Market's recovered fiber practice, Barbara Wright Hudson is responsible for driving sales of Market2Mill, the company’s suite of services for buyers and sellers of recycled fiber, and for managing product evolution and derivative product development. Currently, these services include a monthly recycled and recovered paper price report and a quarterly benchmark that allows customers to compare their performance to, and improve their positions in, the market.
Hudson comes to Forest2Market with 15 years of experience in the recycled fiber industry, where she sourced, negotiated and procured recycled materials for domestic and global markets. Most recently, she was the recycled fiber procurement manager for Marcal Manufacturing, where she increased the amount of fiber received direct from suppliers from 20 percent to 55 percent, which led to a cost avoidance of $10-$15 per ton. While there, she managed sourcing, supplier relations, negotiations, and purchasing.
Prior to that, Hudson worked with Pratt Industries’ Recycling Division in various roles. She has also worked at Greif and Packaging Corporation of America. Hudson has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Stan Parton
Manager, Bioenergy Practice
As manager of Forest2Market's bioenergy practice, Parton is responsible for the expansion of Forest2Fuel, the company’s suite of services for buyers and sellers of renewable energy fuels, and for managing product evolution and derivative product development. These services include biomass supply availability studies, tipping point analyses, site selection studies, wood fuel indexing for supply and off-take agreements and a price benchmark that buyers and sellers of wood fuel use to compare their performance to, and improve their positions in, the market.
Prior to coming to Forest2Market, Parton was principal in The Parton Group, which he established in 2001. A provider of project development support services for the renewable energy and forest products sectors, The Parton Group conducted dozens of studies, including technology options analyses, plant evaluations, and many of the same services offered by Forest2Market.
Stan has a B.S. in Pulp and Paper Science and Technology from North Carolina State University.

Bob Bratton
Manager, Lumber Practice
As manager of Forest2Market's lumber practice, Bob Bratton is responsible for driving sales of Mill2Market, the company’s suite of services for buyers and sellers of lumber, and for managing product evolution and derivative product development. Currently, these services include a weekly market report and a quarterly benchmark that allows customers to compare their performance to, and improve their positions in, the market.
Bratton comes to Forest2Market with nearly 40 years of experience in the building products industry. For the last 22 years, he owned and operated Southern Lumber Sales in North Carolina, a wholesale lumber brokerage and remanufacturing company. His background includes import/export, domestic sales and purchasing of both hardwood and softwood, wholesale business management and a strong understanding of day-to-day sawmill, treating plant and truss manufacturing industries.
