Mill2Market—Weekly Lumber Price Report

Forest2Market produces three weekly lumber price reports from transaction-level data provided by the industry:

  • Mill Realization by Region of Origin (all lumber shipped from a region).
  • Mill Realization by Destination (all lumber shipped to a destination). As long as we have enough data for a destination to meet anti-trust regulations, we'll report it—no matter where it is in the United States.
  • Delivered Price at Destination (delivered price for all lumber shipped to your location).

Each Mill2Market Weekly Lumber Price Report includes: 

  • Dimension, stud, timbers and DSS
  • Green and dry
  • Random and specific lengths
  • Species:
    • Southern Yellow Pine
    • Spruce Pine Fir
    • Douglas Fir
    • Ponderosa Pine
    • Hemlock
    • Larch

How Does It Work?

How We Collect Data

Participants agree to send actual order and invoicing data. Forest2Market collects the same data for all participants, thereby allowing apples-to-apples comparisons.

Data is collected from both buyers (purchase orders cut and invoices received for payment) and sellers (orders received and invoices sent). This allows Forest2Market to double check each purchase/sale and precludes the possibility of data manipulation. Proprietary matching precules double counting.

All data is transferred directly from the customer’s order management or accounting system to Forest2Market. There is no need for companies to switch software or to make complicated adjustments to the way you do business.

Other Details

Prices are volume weighted.

Reports are distributed weekly and are limited to participating companies only.  Reported prices meet the anti-trust rules established by the Department of Justice.

Why You Can Trust Us
  • Forest2Market is a neutral and independent third party. We do not buy or sell lumber, timber, wood fiber or fuelwood.
  • Participants are required to submit 100 percent of their data. This precludes the possibility that data can be cherry-picked to skew results. In addition, all data is subject to periodic audit to ensure results are reliable and accurate.
